moving
The bumpy roads
And the sounds of Mom’s jewelry
Chiming and jingling
Against the big blue ribbon holding them together
In the back of the stuffed van
With me I held my most precious things,
My favorite plushies
And blanket
There on the seat
I’ve never liked long car rides
But this one was different than the others
I’d never be going back there,
I’d never live the same life I had been living
But of course, I didn’t realize that
For I was only three
All my little eyes could see
Were the new friends and things
All waiting for me
